Ashwagandha

The ashwagandha plant (Withania somnifera) belongs to the Solanaceae family, is also called “Indian ginseng” and is very common in Ayurvedic medicine.
It is a small shrub 35-70 cm high with a central stem, from which branches extend radially, into a star-like pattern.
The flowers of the plant are small and green and its fruits are red-orange.
